The idea to start VIN Bjørvika was created in 2017/2018 and arose because the wine import company Grapestone Fine Wines AS wanted to create a place with a strong focus on good wine experiences, a place that had a solid selection of drinks and good snacks, and where it was a low threshold for anyone who wanted to learn more about wine. The wine import company Grapestone Fine Wines AS was started in 2012, and has since then worked with wine and wine imports, so if there is anything they can do, it is precisely wine!

When the idea of a wine bar was about to become a reality, the choice fell naturally on Oslo's new district Bjørvika (Oslobukta), where in March / April 2019 they could finally open their doors.

"Here we almost managed to get a full year of operation before the pandemic came in March 2020 and the period up to 2022 was thus naturally a little different than we had imagined. Despite this, the time in Bjørvika has been incredibly pleasant and we have gradually become both a neighborhood bar for the local community down here and a place where Oslo`s people come to drink good wine in pleasant surroundings. », Says general manager Jørn Damkjær

VIN Bjørvika was nominated in 2021, as 1 of 5 wine bars in Oslo, for the title "Oslo`s best wine bar" by Aftenposten's readers, it's something to be proud of!

Today, VIN's product range counts over 10,000 bottles, of which they have over 1,200 different wines and over 100 available by the glass. In addition, they have a solid selection of beers, drinks and spirits, including 45 different types of gin. Now that everyday life is on its way back again, the employees at VIN are really looking forward to the time ahead in Bjørvika, with sunny summer evenings and good wine experiences throughout the summer.
