Experience the Nutcracker exhibition

In collaboration with the Opera, you can see a very special Nutcracker exhibition at Stasjonsallmenningen in December. Discover the story of the Nutcracker through glass cases and texts.

Every Christmas, The Nutcracker is danced at ballet houses in many parts of the world. The Nutcracker is more than a ballet, it is a Christmas fairy tale that is shared with new generations. More than 50 years have passed since the National Ballet first danced the Christmas ballet, starting what has become such a strong tradition for the audience and for the Opera.

The Nutcracker is about little Clara, who receives a wooden doll as a gift during a Christmas party at home. The doll, which looks like a little soldier, is also a nutcracker. After Clara falls asleep and begins to dream, the nutcracker doll comes to life.

In collaboration with the Opera, you can discover the story of the Nutcracker through glass cases and texts at Stasjonsallmenningen throughout December. Here you will see a mix of costumes, sketches and photos from the performance. Don't miss the unique opportunity to get up close to the real costumes used in the Norwegian Opera and Ballet's production of The Nutcracker.

Bring your family, friends or your sweetheart for a Christmas atmosphere in Oslobukta and experience the exhibition. Perhaps in combination with a Christmas lunch or dinner in the area? See restaurant tips here.

The exhibition opens on Saturday 23 November and will remain open over the New Year.
