Art Night at Oslobukta

April 4
All of Bjørvika and Oslobukta will be buzzing with art during the first Art Night of the year. Don’t miss what’s happening at MUNCH, the Opera, and Deichman, as well as at Kunsthall Oslo, VI VII, Kösk, QSPA – and last but not least, the Oslobukta pop-up.

Join us for a day full of art and inspiration on Friday, April 4!

This evening, the galleries in Oslobukta will stay open until 9 PM, giving you the chance to discover new exhibitions from exciting artists across a range of genres.

Kiyoshi Yamamoto – “You Are What You Is” (MUNCH)

In You Are What You Is, Kiyoshi Yamamoto makes art accessible by creating a space that welcomes the whole human being – and the idea of building community.

The exhibition is filled with colorful textile works in motion, a specially designed amphitheater that brings children to eye level with the art, and a video installation.

The exhibition extends beyond the gallery space into the museum’s public areas, challenging the notion that art should only be experienced within the confines of an exhibition room.

Silk Painting Workshop for the kids

We invite all children to leave their mark on a collective artwork that will take shape during Art Week. Drop by the pop-up space in Oslobukta and contribute to Oslobukta’s largest artwork created by children!

When painting on silk, the colors blend in a unique way, and the fine material creates a harmony between the colors being used. Once the entire silk canvas is painted, the artwork will be displayed for the public to view during Art Night on Friday, April 4.

Kunsthall Oslo – Sei Selina: Consider Me Venus

Performance and film premiere

Friday, April 4 at 7 PM (performance at 7:30 PM)

Free admission

Artist and songwriter Sei Selina presents her most ambitious visual project to date, in creative collaboration with director Niels Windfeldt, the world-renowned dance collective Quick Style, visionary photographer Andreas Johannessen, and legendary heavy metal artist Gaahl. Consider Me Venus is an artistic statement that redefines modern beauty ideals.

Sei Selina is a Norwegian-Sierra Leonean artist and musician based in Oslo, known for her unique blend of alt-pop with elements of spoken word, folk, and soul.

She debuted with the critically acclaimed EP Him or Her, which won the Spellemann Award for Music Video of the Year. In 2022, she toured Europe as a support act for AURORA.

The premiere screening and an exclusive live performance will take place at Kunsthall Oslo on April 4.

KÖSK – Ragnhild Nes

Ragnhild Nes (b. 1993) is an Oslo-based visual artist who primarily works with painting. Her practice is characterized by a searching and intuitive approach to art, inspired in part by the Cobra movement.

She continually explores painting in relation to sculpture, text, and space. Poetry and text are used as tools written directly onto the canvas, guiding the development of composition and palette.

Nes explores the internal and external landscapes of the human experience, where the abstract and the concrete meet. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and she has participated in artist residencies in Portugal, Italy, and Denmark.

This exhibition presents a series of paintings that capture the subtle transition between night and day, featuring the colors of dawn and the awakening sun. The works are centered around a monumental sculpture in welded steel.
