Join the Moomin family and their friends on an adventure into the magical Moominvalley during Moomin Day 2026 in Oslobukta! The event is free and open to everyone.

Did you know that the story of the Moomins has its origins in literature?

Moomintroll and the other characters in the Moomin universe were created by the Finnish-Swedish author Tove Jansson through nine novels and four picture books between 1945 and 1970. The stories about the Moomins are read and loved by adults and children all over the world. The tales from Moominvalley are characterised by a warm philosophy of life and fundamental values such as love, equality, respect, courage and friendship.

The adventurous Moomin family lives in the Moominhouse in Moominvalley, and the family and their friends love going on adventures. They are curious, friendly and brave.
