Midsummer's eve

June 23
Welcome to a free Midsummer celebration at Sukkerbiten in Bjørvika on 23 June at 19:30! Oslo Badstuforening will set fire to a giant floating animal sculpture. The sculpture is designed by artist and sauna host Rune Reite, and built by Rune and volunteers.

Oslo Badstukor (Oslo Sauna Choir) and saxophonist and sauna host Dario Fariello will perform from 19:30. There will also be a communal sing-along (see below). Norway’s Minister of Culture Lubna Jaffery will light the bonfire. This year’s bonfire is shaped like an enormous bird, identified as a meadow pipit. Tip: Arrive early to get a spot at Sukkerbiten!

FREE and OPEN to everyone! No ticket required. Welcome!

The lyrics for the sing-along are HERE. Watch the choir rehearse and get inspired HERE.

In addition to the free bonfire event, we invite you to «Midsummer on the Sauna Pier», with concerts, swimming and sauna from 19:00 to 23:00. This event requires a ticket. Find tickets HERE.
