Meet the woman behind the successful Talormade

— I want to make Oslo the city I would live in myself.

You may have noticed her already. She sells irresistible donuts in all the colors of the rainbow and what must be among Oslo's best coffee. Talor Browne has already put herself on the map — first on Youngstorget under the name Talor & Jørgen, and now the with Talormade, established at Lillo Gård. Soon she is also ready to bring colors and sugar to life in Oslobukta.

— That's what happens when you let a woman like me live out her dream, she smiles.

After several years in the business, Talor has created her own universe of different donuts with all kinds of chocolate, passion fruit, lemon curd and crème brûlée, to name a few, in addition to their own coffee roastery.

Talor Browne is ready to open her third café in Oslo.

She is originally from Australia and for many years she was part of Melbourne's cool café scene. Today she is married to a Norwegian and well established in Oslo. Although Norway is a long way from Melbourne, Talor's idea has been clear from the start — she wanted to open places that Oslo didn't have before.

— In Oslo, there are many serious players who are very successful, so I will bring all the sugar and sparkles. The idea behind it is to be a fun, warm place where everyone is welcome. With fantastic food, of course, she says enthusiastically.

Wants to be a part of creating the new Oslo

The choice to place Talormade at Lillo Gård and in Oslobukta is no coincidence. Instead of opening cafés in already popular areas, Talor wants to attract people to new places.

— The way you make Oslo better is to go to places that are not established yet, and make it something. My whole vision is to make Oslo more like the city I want to live in myself.

And Talor speaks from experience. The cafés at Youngstorget and Lillo Gård quickly became popular, and she has many plans for the road ahead in Oslobukta. Exactly what to expect she will keep to herself, but she can reveal that it is more than donuts and coffee. She also has a dream she wants to share about the new location.

— Just outside the door you can jump into the water from the dock. I have a dream that people will float around in inflable floating donuts sipping on some delicious iced coffee or eating ice cream.

Lokalene er straks klare, og i juni blir det åpning av Talormade i Oslobukta.

Still making donuts in the time of Corona

Despite the corona virus, the team at Talormade have not put the brakes on. The café at Lillo Gård still makes donuts and coffee for take-away, as well as seating with a good distance between each other. The café is large and spacious, and to make it safe for the customers, they clean well between each and every visit. The branch in Oslobukta will also open as planned.

— We are a new business in the midst of a global pandemic, so I couldn't have chosen a worse time to open a café, says Talor.

Still, she is optimistic. After taking over the premises in April and a few months of renovation, Talormade in Oslobukta will open in June. Talor has already become well known in the area and has visited several of the neighbours. Her favorite is without a doubt Koie Ramen.

— I love Koie, they make fantastic ramen. It's one of my favorite places, especially if I'm alone. There you can sit and eat by the window alone, without it being strange. They have also managed to introduce a dish in Oslo that was not here before, she finishes happily.
