Liz Rekve`s paintings balance between the spontaneous and the calm. Muted earth tones create a sense of both stillness and unease, while cool blue hues break through to create contrast. The surfaces carry clear traces of the process – scratches, layers and drips – giving the works life and depth. These are not just paintings, but layer upon layer of time, choices and change.
