This autumn exhibition at Gallery VI, VII opened on Friday 25/10, and will remain until the end of November. You don't want to miss this.
Further exploring the transgressive qualities of both fashion and his artwork on the senses, Bjarne Melgaard is collaborating with niche perfumer Kristian Hilberg on three unique fragrances for the brand, Malbrum.
For "Abuse is the Beauty of the Working Class," an exhibition at VI, VII, Melgaard moves the fragrance laboratory for this artisinal experiment into the gallery, pairing it with new video works and sculpture. 300 bottles of the perfume, hand-painted by Melgaard will be available for purchase exclusively during the first days of the show…
The exhibition will remain on view beyond that for an extended period of time.
During this period, Melgaard will also take over the gallery's office, exhibiting photographs and unique pieces.
"Abuse is the Beauty of the Working Class" takes place on the heels of Melgaard launching his perfumes with Comme des Garçons in Paris, and Reference Studios in Berlin, and serves as its Oslo launch.
